January 2026 Prayer Diary
1. Pray for King Charles and those alongside him serving our nation.
2. Pray for Christians suffering persecution in Nigeria, Sudan, Eritrea and Burkina Faso.
3.Lord for the years your love has kept and guided, urged and inspired us, cheered us on our way, sought us and saved us, pardoned and provided: Lord of the years, we bring our thanks today.
4. Pray for our Bishops Joanne and Luke.
5. Pray for our farming communities.
6. Pray for Graham’s ongoing ministry, for blessing, guidance and inspiration.
7. Pray for our local schools, for teachers, children and governors.
8. Pray for Barnabas Aid, Tearfund, Christian Aid and Embrace the Middle East.
9. Pray for a reduction in the economic gulf between the nations.
10. You are the King of Glory, you are the Prince of Peace, you are the Lord of heaven and earth, you’re the Son of righteousness. Angels bow down before you, worship and adore, for you have the words of eternal life, you are Jesus Christ the Lord. Hosanna to the Son of David! Hosanna to the King of kings! Glory in the highest heaven, for Jesus the Messiah reigns.
11. Pray for Edward, Heather and Nathan as the Holy Spirit enables them to seek new pathways to introduce people to Jesus.
12. Pray for local businesses to thrive and our councils to make wise decisions.
13. Pray for all working at Bungay Medical Centre.
14. Give thanks for sponsors and team members of Compassion as they release children from poverty and teach them about Jesus.
15, Pray for our local care workers to bring hope and show love to all they help in community homes or their own.
16. Pray for the ministry of Quiet Waters.
17. I cast my mind to Calvary, where Jesus bled and died for me. I see his wounds, his hands, his feet, my Saviour on the cursed tree. O praise the name of the Lord our God, O praise his name for evermore. For endless days we will sing his praise, Oh Lord, Oh Lord our God.
18. Pray for our church wardens, lay elders and PCC members.
19. Pray for all who come to our churches for the first time. May they experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
20. Pray for those with mental health issues and all who try to help them.
21. Pray for Francesco, Zoe and their children serving Jesus in Kosovo.
22. Pray for Leon Collyer and his family as he ministers in the Saints.
23. Pray for the daily witness of members of our congregations.
24. I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell in dark and sin my hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright, who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord. Is it I Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead me, I will hold your people in my heart.
25. Pray for protection and blessing on Barnaby and Judah.
26. Pray for foodbanks. Give thanks for those who serve and enable them to bless the recipients.
27. Pray for Ukraine and all its people as we hear the latest news.
28. Pray for blessing and wisdom for the Lightwave Core Team.
29. Pray for archdeacons, Rich and Sally. May Rich continue to offer wisdom in the diocese and Sally be blessed in her sabbatical.
30. Pray for one another, giving thanks for the friendships we enjoy as we meet.
31.O God of burning, cleansing flame: send the fire! Your blood bought gift today we claim: send the fire today! Look down and see this waiting host and send the promised Holy Ghost; we need another Pentecost! Send the fire today! Send the fire today!
